Recipe Strawberry-Mango Spread with Chili and Vanilla low-carb

This will wake you up right away! Get an energy boost in the morning with a twist – only 3g of net carbs per portion (30g)!

  • 250 g strawberries
  • 250 g mango (peeled)
  • 115 g Dr. Almond Low-Carb Jam Fix
  • vanilla pulp (or vanilla flavouring)
  • 1 dried chili pod

How to prepare the jam

  1. Peel the mango and cut into small pieces. Chop the strawberries.
  2. Combine mango, strawberries, jam fix, vanilla and finely chopped chili in a saucepan and bring to the boil while stirring constantly. Allow it to simmer for about 5 min and stir occasionally. Finally use a hand blender and quickly whip up the mixture, then fill hot into jars.

Potting – How to prepare the jars!

  1. Submerge jars and lids in a large pot of hot water and boil them thoroughly (e.g. in a deep saucepan), then place with the opening upwards on a clean tea towel and fill the jars as soon as possible. As an alternative, you can put them in the oven at 120 °C for about 15 minutes. Then fill in the fruit spread when still boiling hot, put the lids on as quickly as possible and turn the filled jars upside down for 5 minutes (or seal them with rubber seals and clips – depending on the glass jar). Finally turn the jars right-side-up and let them cool completely.
  2. Once opened, store the jars in the fridge and consume quickly.
