Recipe Strawberry-Mango Spread with Chili and Vanilla low-carb
This will wake you up right away! Get an energy boost in the morning with a twist – only 3g of net carbs per portion (30g)!
- 250 g strawberries
- 250 g mango (peeled)
- 115 g Dr. Almond Low-Carb Jam Fix
- vanilla pulp (or vanilla flavouring)
- 1 dried chili pod
How to prepare the jam
- Peel the mango and cut into small pieces. Chop the strawberries.
- Combine mango, strawberries, jam fix, vanilla and finely chopped chili in a saucepan and bring to the boil while stirring constantly. Allow it to simmer for about 5 min and stir occasionally. Finally use a hand blender and quickly whip up the mixture, then fill hot into jars.
Potting – How to prepare the jars!
- Submerge jars and lids in a large pot of hot water and boil them thoroughly (e.g. in a deep saucepan), then place with the opening upwards on a clean tea towel and fill the jars as soon as possible. As an alternative, you can put them in the oven at 120 °C for about 15 minutes. Then fill in the fruit spread when still boiling hot, put the lids on as quickly as possible and turn the filled jars upside down for 5 minutes (or seal them with rubber seals and clips – depending on the glass jar). Finally turn the jars right-side-up and let them cool completely.
- Once opened, store the jars in the fridge and consume quickly.
