Recipe Bread Bowl Mince Cheese Volcano PARTY HIT low-carb gluten-free keto

A real eye-catcher at every party and is well worth the effort: a crispy shell made of low-carb toast bread – filled to the brim with mince and a cream cheese-cheddar-lava core. INCLUDING ALL STEP-BY-STEP PHOTOS TO FOLLOW THE RECIPE!

  • 1 bag Dr. Almond Toast bread mix
  • 200 g cheddar cheese ((grated))
  • 100 g cream cheese
  • 200 g minced beef
  • 50 g onions ((chopped))
  • 100 g bell pepper ((chopped))
  • 1 Tbsp Dr. Almond Ghee
  • 1 Tbsp tomato paste
  • salt and spices as you like
  1. Prepare the toast bread dough according to instructions. Shape the dough into a loaf with wet hands and place it first on baking paper and then into a round small baking tin or oven-proof pan (about 18 cm in diameter) and bake it until done.
  2. Allow the bread to cool for about 30 min. Make a 2 cm deep cut with a knife all around the bread loaf, about 1 cm from the edge, then carefully hollow out bottom, leaving a 1 cm lid, cut off the edges and remains. Cut removed bread into small cubes and put aside – if you like you can also make crispy fried croutons out of the cubes adding butter, garlic and salt and use them to make a tasty salad as a side dish.
  3. Spread 2 tablespoons of grated cheddar cheese on the bottom of the bread bowl, scatter 1 tablespoon of cheddar cheese on the inner side of the bread lid and gratinate both pieces at 175 °C for about 10 min.
  4. Meanwhile, cook mince with onions and bell pepper in ghee until they’re crispy and add salt and spices as you like. Finally, stir in the tomato paste.
  5. Mix cream cheese with the remaining cheddar cheese (reserve 1 tablespoon) to a paste. Shape the paste to a ball using 2 tablespoons and place it in the middle of the bread bowl.
  6. Spoon the mince mix evenly around the cheese ball and finally sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  7. Put the bread lid on and bake at 175 °C for about 10 minutes, serve hot. One bread bowl can easily serve 4 persons and can be quickly cut into 4 pieces. Optionally: serve with a tasty green salad and freshly made croutons.

(Nutritional values WITHOUT croutons!)

Here we once again listed all the steps of the preparation.

Of course, the recipe can be varied as you wish, e. g. with one of these fillings:

  • Mushroom-Chicken Casserole in cream sauce
  • Pan-fried Vegetarian Vegetables
  • Tex-Mex Mince with corn and kidney beans
  • Sautéed Spinach & Salmon in cream sauce
  • and so on ….

Have fun trying out and enjoy!
